Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the Bee Cave Ice project collects, uses, and shares information when you visit the Site or submit the interest / contact form. The Site is operated in the United States (Texas). For legal advice, consult your own counsel; this document is provided for transparency.
1. Who we are
The Site is published for the Bee Cave Ice project — an early-stage community ice facility concept in the Bee Cave / Lake Travis region of southwest Austin, Texas. The responsible contact for privacy inquiries is listed in Section 10 below.
2. What we collect
- Email address — required when you submit the lead form.
- Optional identity and context — name; organization and role for certain audience types; free-text message; optional interest tags; optional “what you can contribute” notes on professional paths; audience segment and consent acknowledgment as submitted.
- Form metadata — page path, UTM parameters, and HTTP referrer when the browser supplies them, to understand how you reached the form.
- Technical and behavioral data — browser type, device characteristics, general location (such as IP-derived country or region), and on-site behavior collected through our analytics provider (see Sections 4–5).
3. Why we collect it
- To respond to inquiries and route messages by audience (for example community programs vs. governmental briefings).
- To operate an interest and mailing list for project updates when you opt in via the form consent.
- To evaluate community interest — which pages and topics drive engagement — and to improve the Site responsibly.
- To secure the forms against automated abuse (Turnstile).
4. Third parties
We use service providers that process data on our instructions. They have their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — hosts the Edge Function that receives form submissions and stores lead records in Postgres (project region configured at setup; see PROJECT_PLAN.md §14).
- SendGrid (Twilio) — delivers transactional email (for example auto-replies and internal notifications). Twilio’s terms and privacy notice apply to email delivery.
- PostHog — product analytics, event capture, and (where enabled) session replay with input masking per our configuration.
- Cloudflare — hosts the static Site (Pages), provides Turnstile for bot mitigation, and may process requests at the edge. Cloudflare’s privacy materials apply to those services.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
- PostHog may set cookies or use local storage for session and identification continuity tied to analytics.
- Cloudflare Turnstile uses cookies or similar signals as described by Cloudflare to validate that form submissions are human-driven.
- We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies for ad retargeting on this Phase 1 Site.
6. Retention
By default, we intend to retain lead form records and related operational email for approximately twenty-four (24) months, unless a longer period is needed to maintain the mailing list while you remain subscribed or to meet legal obligations. Analytics event data in PostHog is subject to that product’s retention settings configured for the project. We may delete or anonymize data sooner when appropriate.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights for information you submitted through this Site, contact us at shane@beecaveice.com from the same email address you used on the form when possible, so we can verify the request.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
Although the project is Texas-based, visitors may include California residents. If the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended (CPRA) applies, you may have the right to know categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, to delete personal information subject to exceptions, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined by California law. We do not sell your personal information for money. For requests, use the contact in Section 10. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by law.
8. Children’s policy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent. The lead form and Site copy are directed at adults (parents, officials, professionals). If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13 in violation of this policy, contact us and we will take steps to delete it where feasible.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the version number and effective date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be reflected in updated form consent language where required. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy, except where applicable law requires a different process.
