Bringing world-class ice to southwest Austin.

A twin-sheet community ice complex planned for the Bee Cave / Lake Travis area. Join the community following the project, from milestones and partnerships to programming plans as we build.

The gap

  • 2,550,000

    people in the Austin metro

  • 5

permanent ice sheets in the entire metro

  • 0

of them west, south, or southwest of downtown

Today's sheets cluster north and east of downtown, at Chaparral Ice, Ice & Field at The Crossover, and The Pond Hockey Club - with youth hockey organized through the Austin Metro Hockey Association (AMHA). Bee Cave Ice is planned to complement that ecosystem with ice where southwest Austin families already live.

What we're building

A twin-sheet ice complex centered on a regulation primary rink and a secondary practice sheet, with locker rooms, dryland training, pro shop, and a community-oriented restaurant. Designed to host year-round programs across youth and high school hockey, figure skating, learn-to-skate, adult leagues, curling, and tournaments - and to anchor a new community gathering place for the region.

Grounded in data and proven models

Outreach and planning draw on regional demographic context and feasibility analysis informed by NHL-affiliated municipal-rink precedent, without implying any specific operating partner, site, or timeline. Details evolve as feasibility work continues.
